R.I.P Daddy/Papa

My daddy passed away on March 16. It was very unexpected and it happened very fast. He had a sudden heart attack, and was gone in that second. I just wanted to write something about him on here, for the kids to see. Their papa loved them so very much. It was very hard to explain to the kids what happened, and they still ask questions every day about him in heaven, they want to make sure he can still shower, eat, and plant a garden up there. We are now getting to spend even more time with Nana... She has been with him since she was 15 years old, so her life has changed more then anyones. Her grandchildren keep her going! My children keep me going... Life is so hard without him, but we do have wonderful memories that will last a lifetime...

Well, i know its been a while and I still dont have new pics of the kids downloaded on my new computer but...Here is the latest on them..

Hallie- just turned 4!! We are pretty successful in the potty training dept but we battle with constipation...so that is an issue with that! She weighs 27 lbs, and is 36 inches tall. She is doing so good....she has pretty much been healthy except for normal little kid things like a cold and ear infections. She still wears her glasses and we did find out this summer that she is over 3 times the legally blind limit in her bad eye, but thank goodness her other eye is pretty good.

Heath- My poor little boy!! In 2007 we were in the hospital somewhere around 8 times with Pneumonia and one time with RSV, that has really set him back with his lungs. He has been on oxygen the majority of the time at night since 2007. In 2008 he only was in the hospital twice but one time in May was really scary and we ended up having to call 911 and he was taken my ambulance to Childrens hospital. In 2009, we have already been in the hospital for Pneumonia and RSV... I hope 2009 gets better. Besides severe ashtma and hypoxia (lack of oxygen) he also is in need of another heart surgery, we have to wait on his lungs to get stronger before that is possible. All the Pneumonia is not helping this issue. His lungs are actually the cause of his new heart problem. Its a long scary story but he is a fighter and we will get through this hurdle too.
He is 39 inches tall and weighs 30 lbs. He hasnt gained weight in about 6 months or so. He eats but for some reason he just cant gain. He doesnt eat great but we supliment both kids with Nutren Jr (high calorie formula).

I will post pictures soon, even though I am not real sure if ANYONE checks this thing anymore....since it has been 1 1/2 years since I posted....

First football game of the year!

Heath's newest acheivment would be .... throwing a ball so hard that it shattered the glass in the stove, who even knew that glass would break.... Im glad he can throw good but dang...now we have to buy a new stove!!

YAY for Hallie!!.... 2 weeks ago we went to Tiny Tots to check on Hallie's button that looked like it was getting an infection...and we chose to take it out!! It had an infection and she wasnt using it... but it was still a very hard decision...and Hallie has withdraws from it...She cried for her button..and told me to go back to the dr and get it.. But, now it has healed nicely and looks like another belly button! I am also very excited to report that Ms Hallie Brooke weighs 21 lbs... (more then Halle Grace!!) That was a huge gain for us!

Harley started K on Monday...He didnt cry at all and could care less when we left. But, it has totally wore him out. He cant even function when he gets home because he is just so tired. If you ask him about school, he talks about going outside to play... That's MY boy!

Heath and Hallie started a new class "The Two year old class"... They really like their new teachers but they cry in the mornings now when we drop them off. They have to wait in another room for about 15 mins for their teacher to get there and they do NOT like that room.

I'm pretty sure I have lost about all of my viewers to the blog, since it has been 3 months since I have last posted. Anyhow, the twins have been doing great. We have been hospital free since March. We are getting more and more teeth, throwing more and more tantrums, and talking more and more. Besides that, it has been a pretty eventless 3 months. Harley played soccer for the first time. It was fun watching him, but he already knows that the goalie doesnt have to run, so that is what he always wanted to be! That is MY son!! Heath and Hallie have realized that thunder "scare me" and that they LOVE the outdoors. Heath pretty much acts like we are beating him every time we put him in the car... Hallie tackles Heath on command, and Heath can NOT get her off of him...he screams bloody murder!!!, Hallie will take out her "hair bow" EVERY time she gets in the car...she now asks for her glasses..We found out 2 weeks ago that Heath has to wear glasses again... they should be in any day now... but he asks to wear Hallie's all the time, so I'm crossing my fingers that he will keep them on..., and Justin has already started Heath on pitching lessons since he is a lefty!! (To a baseball coach, left handed pitchers are gold...Poor Heath!)

ICU.....and more!!

I just noticed it has been a month since I have updated...Oops! This has been one CRAZY month.. Heath has had 2 different hospitalizations! The first was rather scary..He was put into ICU for 24 hours, he was needing 5 liters of oxygen and they were talking about intubating him... We were SO scared!! Then we were out of the hospital for 2 week and had to go back in.... he had a minor surgery on Friday the 16th and during that he stopped breathing and had to be bagged 2 different times... well that night we ended up back in the hospital (the surgery was at an outpatient clinic) We stayed 3 more days in the hospital since he needed more oxygen then they would like for us to do at home....(we often do more then they think we should without taking him to the hospital). The Dr. told us anything over a liter was too dangerous for us to do at home...and there has been several occasions were he has needed 2 liters at home.. I did tell him we would end up living at the hospital if that was the case.

Harley and Hallie, thank God, have been relatively healthy through all of this...

I will try really hard to update more often...

Pray for April to be a month WITHOUT being in the hospital!!

Heath is still sick...or shall i say sick again! Another double ear infection... more fever. Hallie is teething, so we have a fussy one there too... I wonder what its like to have healthy kids!!??
These pictures are SO Heath. He thinks if he has a "bogan" on his head then he can go outside, so he stood by the back door yelling "side"... He must have forgot he has to have clothes on too... and he always runs around with that football helmet on his head...and of course a football...and I must say he catches it great for his age/size. Daddy is so proud!

Happy Birthday and Hospital Stay # 2

I am VERY pissed right now. I just spent the last 45 minutes writing this big story on our last month. Including Hospital stays and Birthday #2! Here is a very short version… I do mean VERY.

*Heath was in the hospital for 5 days at the beginning of Jan for RSV and Pneumonia.
*Hallie went to the Dr. when Heath got home from the hospital and has Pneumonia too.
*We are 2 weeks post hospital stay and Heath is STILL on oxygen at night.
*Heath STILL has Pneumonia, no better or worse. So we, yet again, try another antibiotic!
*Heath’s eardrum busted.
*Heath learned how to climb out of his baby bed.
*This week we see ENT, GI, Pulminologist, Pedi (Yes, we get Synagis. It just doesn’t work for us!), and we also have the yearly evaluation with ECI.

****Two very special kids turned TWO!! H & H turned two on January 18th. It really seems like it should be their first birthday. Our birthday wish was more weight, and less sickness for 2007!****

Someone at the Dr’s office asked their age difference.” Two minutes”. ”Oh, they’re twins, I couldn’t tell”. I’m sure I looked at her like she is crazy but they do weigh 17 and 24 lbs and are 5 inches apart.I guess I’m starting to look like one of those crazy moms that got pregnant right away.

Ambulance Ride and Oxygen

We have had one CRAZY week. Short run down, Hallie was sick all week ...Monday, the dr put her on antibiotics for a double ear infection and an RSV test came back negative. Tues and Wed I stayed home from work because she was still sick. Thursday,since we had to go to Dallas for 2 other dr's appt's, we took Heath and Hallie to the dr for being sick. Little did I know how sick Miss Hallie really was. While we were at the dr they ran another RSV test, gave 2 breathing treatments, and then hooked both up to the Pulse ox machine. I will admit I thought the Dr was crazy since that is what they were on when they came home from the hospital. I thought that I would be able to tell if Hallie couldnt breathe, well I was wrong.... You want your 02 sats in the high 90's atleast! Hallie was in the mid 80's. I made the excuse that the thing wasnt on her foot right.... well it still came back the same. I thought I knew what that meant but it was one of those feelings that I was hoping I was wrong.... Yes, she needed oxygen.... and Yes, we were heading to Childrens.... by ambulance. Once we were there, it was madness. Hallie was on oxygen and the breathing treatments were making her better. Justin comes in with Heath, the dr looks at him and decides that he needs to be admitted too.... Crazy! He was released a few hours later after meds and oxygen for a while. Now is when it gets bad.... In the middle of the night the dr's come in and tell us Hallie has been doing bad and they need to work on her (at children's the turn off the monitors in the room, so parents can sleep....Im not sure I like that) They turn on her monitors and begin deep suctioning her out.... I asked how much oxygen she was on, and at first it was 1 liter..... then 1 1/4, then 1.5, then 1 3/4, then 2.....(remind everyone, she came home from the NICU on 1/32nd of a liter, so I KNEW this wasnt good). At the point she was on 2 liters I asked them what was next because she wasnt getting better and nothing was working....They said "We are going to try suctioning really deep one more time and then Its the INTENSIVE CARE UNIT" I got so sick, literally. The head RT came in and FINALLY , FINALLY... got her a little better.... I was so scared because I knew that there were no meds that could help this....(I forgot to mention, yes they were treathing her for RSV) Besides, Heath's life and death heart surgery, that was the by far the most worried I had been about the babies....Long story.... but we are home now! Prayers, once again, were answered! Merry Christmas to All!

I have so much to be thankful for this year. My family of course being the most important. I am so thankful that the twins are relatively healthy, Hallie can see out of atleast one eye, Heath has so far not had to have another heart surgery, Harley is a great big brother, my wonderful husband that takes such great care of me, that I get to wake up 3x a night to feed my baby girl....yes, I'm thankful for that! She eats, she is growing, and she is HERE....im very thankful. I will also be thankful when she is big enough to sleep all night without having to eat. But, I do remember the days of constant praying that I would do ANYTHING for her to take a bottle, and I do suppose that meant not getting more then 3 hours a sleep at a time. I thank God everyday for my family and everything He has done for us. It has been a very hard road and I must say it has all been worth it. Preemie life is a rough road to travel and I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy but it has taught me a lot and I do believe I am a better person because of it. I have learned to have patience, dont stress over the small stuff. If a surgery can fix it, we're good!

Wow, how life changes after watching your children fight for their life!

I'm also very thankful for
-My parents, especially my mommy, she is the best mom in the world. I would have gone crazy many nights without her.
-The Amy Harris Fund that has allowed our twins to recieve their RSV shots this winter.
-Justin's parents, who are always there when we need them.
-the friends I have met in the NICU
-my neices and nephew
-the wonderful kids on my CC team, who make coaching worth it.

Another round of Synagis today. That $6000 qonder drug. The makers must be making a killing. They help save our babies but then they make us broke. Go figure!
Hallie now weighs 17lbs 10oz. YAY, the nurse said she gained a half pound this month. Heath was 22lbs 8oz.

Both babies seem to be progressing great. The ECI worker told me that "heath is SO smart" which was great to hear.... but im still wondering how she got that since he doesnt communicate!

Hallie is a little fairy, notice the cute shoes I just got her!! Heath is a tiger with glasses! Even though it doesnt look like he is getting much use out of them since he is looking over the glasses to see. Harley, of course, is the Shrek! The twins are getting their rounds of RSV shots Oct- March and we just got their first bill in....The shots were over 6000 a piece for ONE month. I wasnt informed that when they weigh a certain amount they use more dosage and the $$ amount doubles. Thank God for insurance or our little two would be having to go without them. At our last appointment Hallie weight 17lbs 7oz and Heath was over 22lbs. Both have broke through a lot more teeth lately...considering that Hallie just had one... anything is a lot but she now has FIVE... Heath has 7 and almost 8... Hallie and Heath both got 4 in a weeks time!
While he was throwing his daily tantrum at daycare, Heath broke his glasses. We had to call and get him a new pair. Besides all that, there is nothing new.

Arent they just the cutest two boys in the world? Heath now weighs 22 lbs 8oz, he gained 7oz this week! He is doing better eating and talking...and he is a PRO at tantrums. He still gets on Harley's bed, on the table, on the couch, in the trash..... all those are every day! But, he also is still the cutest baby ever. He will be one of those kids that get in trouble in school, but look so darn cute that you hate to punish him....Yep, just like his brother, Harley- A very cute stinker!

Hallie is getting SO big, well.. for her! Just a little update. She now weighs 17lbs 2oz! She had her first round of Synagis today (the shot to help prevent RSV). We'll be praying it works!! Hallie has been eating a little better too. SHE HASNT USED HER TUBE IN 3-4 MONTHS!! She has also starting talking a lot more. She will try to repeat whatever you tell her to say. You cant always understand her but ..."she's getting there".

The Dr. called her a toddler.... Oh my, my babies are growing up...

This time... it really has been forever since I have updated. The twins are doing good! Heath has been battling with a cough/wheeze for about a week now, along with some throwing up. Hallie has been doing great. She woke up with a rash on her face and legs this morning. Im sure she will be sick just in time for the homecoming football game tomorrow night. That is how it works around here... Making plans = sick babies! The kids have been getting to play outside a lot lately. They feel like they are in Heaven when they get to run around everywhere. Im still not convinced that its worth the major tantrum when we come back in the house... but atleast the tantrum wears them out, then its off to bed!
In this 2nd picture you can really tell the difference in the twins skin color. Heath has my color, and Hallie her dads. Great News... Hallie is getting another tooth.... She just might have 2 whole teeth before her second birthday.

To the Anonymous person that wrote asking if we still use Duocal for Hallie, YES!! It adds 45 calories to every bottle! Im not too convinced it works wonders but I cant imagine how small she would be without it. I dont really know her exact weight since we havent been the the dr in a while, but im guessing (hoping) around 16 1/2 lbs... @ 20 months...(Carrie and Julie....can you believe our babies are about to be TWO... I think you guys need to start working on siblings for your little girls) im sure that isnt even close to being on the charts. She still is taking the bottle pretty good but she hasnt increased ANY on her table food.

Harley has been doing great at school. He comes home everyday with something new he has learned. Most recently learning how to spell, stop, go, no, dog, cat, daddy, and of course Harley. I will say one thing....FOUR is looking better then the three's did. He is getting to where you can reason with him. And he is getting to where he can pick the twins up and move them from things they arent suppose in/on.

I went to change Heath's diaper the other night (just a reminder, its football season, my husbands a coach...so yes, i was home doing the single mom thing) and I come back in the living room and Hallie is on the rocker, standing...rocking herself fast as she could..and hanging on tight....
Then, i stepped on the back porch and threw something away and come back (took maybe 10 seconds) and she was standing on the kitchen table!!

Hallie has a tooth. It is as sideways as it can be, but its there! I have not been updating because I just dont know if I am going to keep this blog up since the Halle Grace scare. One of our close friends that had a blog had someone pretend to be Halle's mother. Way too creepy for me. Anyhow, my trio are doing fine. Running me crazy. I can not leave the twins sight. The climb on the chair, on the table, in the high chair.... faster then I can throw something away in the other room.
Check out Hallie's new carseat.... or shall i say LOOK AT THAT TONGUE! Hallie isnt using her big girl carseat yet, but my mom did get it for her for Xmas.

I took all three kids to Justin's first football game of the year. Well, we made it a whole half before we left. I was really proud of that! The kids were actually good but they kept me so busy that I didnt get to watch ANY of the game.

Look Halle Grace, I have something wrong with my arm too....

Heath is acting more like a toddler everyday! In his first week of his new class at daycare, he broke his glasses throwing a fit..ok, not too big of a deal, Wal Mart fixed them (kinda)... Next day, breaks them GOOD this time. I mean, might have to buy a set of new frames good. He is so strong. And tantrums, wow, this kid can throw them with the best of 'em. He has a different bruise on his head everyday from throwing a fit and throwing himself back into whatever is in his way.

Are the terrible two's starting early?? Oh no, terrible two...times two... HELP!

What a cute little stinker I have! Hallie's personality has really started coming out these last few weeks. She now dances everytime she hears music, screams everytime you leave her sight, and pulls her own hair, just to name a few. I know, some good...some not so good. The last two days Hallie has been acting really cranky. We are hoping its the beginning stages of a first tooth. There are no real signs of a tooth coming but I think we are just hoping this crankiness isnt just a new phase for Ms Hallie. The kid is 19 months old with NO teeth, its bound to happen soon. A good thing about no teeth is, she cant be blamed for bitting other kids in her class. (which is happening, but its not my angel...this time!)

Aunt Stacey, doesnt this bottom picture favor you. There is a picture of you when you where about her age that was professionally done. Its the one that looks like Daddy got you straight from bed and had your picture made.

Another good reunion! The 4 some got together again. From L to R, Halle Grace, Hallie Brooke, Heath, and Julia. All of them were born within 2 weeks of each other, and all weighing less then 2 lbs! God is good. These babies are so healthy. They enjoyed playing together and of course the moms enjoyed their time to chat. Heath and Hallie tried teaching the other 2 to eat while Halle Grace was showing off her verbal skills. This kid amazes me. Not only is she the smallest baby that I know that survived, but she is talking up a storm. Answering questoins, asking them, she even old me she loved me. "I love you, Bobbie"
Julia and Heath looked like they were getting a little comfortable together in this bottom picture. Heath is making a move but I want to think Julia has the look like she was going to tell her daddy!!

I know, I know… It’s been forever since I have updated. Justin and I just got back from a well needed vacation; actually we were at coaching school but no kids, which means a vacation!

I just caught up on some blog’s that I read on a regular basis. I am so glad that I have all you other preemie families to depend on to make my life seem normal.

Billie, I totally understand how you feel about the eating issue. It is so hard to make sure they eat all that they need in a day, and we have the button but try extremely hard not to use it. It was easier making sure Hallie got all her calories in that day when we did use it but now it is a challenge but I feel so blessed that she does/can eat. She by no means eats great but I would guess she is on the same page as your two. You have the most amazing strength out of any woman I know. You are an awesome mother. We always like to say how blessed we are to have our children, and we are...but, your children are blessed to have you.

Liz, words cant even describe how your last post makes me feel. I cant even hold back the tears when I think about it. I, too, lost a triplet and that feeling along makes me feel weak. I can’t even begin to imagine what you went through during their birth, and after. You are such a great mom. You have so much strength in caring for Kaitlyn everyday. It is not easy dealing with all the preemie issues that we are dealt with but you do a great job! It won’t be long and she will be smiling and eating and you will wonder when she grew up. It happens so fast, right before your eyes.

Ryan Twins, I see my twins every time I read your blog. They seem to have the same facial expressions, clothes, wagon, Hannah wears glasses, just like Hallie. The only difference, Heath is bigger then Hallie!…. And guess what we decided on, yes, we are copying you again…we are getting the car seats!!

And now for my favorite to preemie moms, ever!

Julie, I am so thankful that I met you in the hospital, and even more thankful that we have kept in touch. You have been such a great support system for me. I have always been able to count on you for advice, whatever it may be. You are such a sweet person and a great mother. I’m still not sure how you do it but your daughter is so darn smart. She is such a miracle, in fact…the smallest one I know!! She amazes me all the time. The feeding tube, leg braces, and all the other issues that she has been faced with has not slowed her down one second. Having you there to talk to about all our problems makes things so much easier. I know that you share in my kids milestones just like I do Halle. You understand how exciting it is to have Hallie eat a cheerio! Thank you so much for putting some kind of ease in this nice roller coaster we are living.

Carrie, You are the first friend I met in the NICU. It doesn’t seem like 18 month ago when I was catching Julia from trying to escape her crib, or watching her monitors as if she were my own. How neat was it knowing that everyone knew the friendship that you and I had, that we could check in on the other ones babies. That was just unheard of in the NICU. I’ll never forget when Julia and her nurse came to visit us in the “over night” room when we were taking Hallie home. I felt such a bond with you when you moved into our “pod” and both of our children were about to go through major surgery. My heart aches just thinking of those days. You are such a great friend to me. Our friendship will go way beyond the “preemie” stages. I have always been able to count on you for advice, or just for a good laugh. Your sense of humor cracks me up! You and I are so much a like. And come to think of it, Darrin and Justin are too. I can’t thank you enough for all you have done for me. You are one of my closest friends!

Now, on to the kids.
Heath- He is so dramatic. If you didn’t know him you might think he broke his leg from the crying/screaming fit, but no…really, we just shut the door so he couldn’t get into his brothers room. He can throw a tantrum like a pro. He is doing really good with eating. Walking everywhere! Has 4 teeth, and I must say its killing ME every time one comes in. He now gives kisses, plays “nite-nite”, climbs on the couch and Harley’s bed. He loves to be held and is the best baby ever when he is outside. But, sometimes I wonder, is it worth taking him outside to have to deal with the meltdown of bringing him back in….hmmm!

Hallie- my little princess. Well, things are going great with Hallie. She is walking everywhere. We finally found shoes that fit her thanks to ebay. Her favorite thing to eat is toast, with lots of butter. She also likes icing, so yes, I did go buy her her own bowl! She has been probably almost a month without her tube (except for this weekend while we were gone, my mother used it to get her med feed down! Bad Nana!!) Anyhow, I am so pleased with her eating. We go tomorrow to her new pediatrician just for a first visit to her established before school starts. Harley and Heath have already gone there. She on the 18th to the dr and she weighed 15 lbs 9oz. She is getting there and at east she is gaining without the tube. She continues to amaze me.

Harley- he has been several weeks with just 2-3 accidents!! Yay for underwear! He turned 4 years old on the 28th of July. Justin and I have had him now for over 3 years. Time goes by so fast. We are so lucky to have him as our son. When you look at the way the system works, we should have lost him. Everyone thought we would! Long story, but we won… and we got to adopt him. He is so darn cute!!

My little girl finally can eat a cheerio! I know this doesn't sound like anything big but I have been breaking a single cheerio into 4 pieces for months now, and still she gagged the majority of the time. Not anymore, now I can put 10 on her tray and she eats one at a time. Now that she has done a good job with eating and everything, in 3 weeks she moves up to the new class in daycare. Which means a new teacher, which means learning how to eat for someone new, again. She doesnt eat for everyone, mainly just myself and her daycare teacher. Not only do I get to stress about wheather Hallie is eating, her and Heath will not be in the same class. Heath has moved up to the 18 month old class (in 3 weeks) , this class eats the school menu , drinks from sippy cups, doesnt have their milk heated, and they sleep on a mat! Technically he will be 18 months but Oh my goodness, he will be the youngest one in the class, not including that he was a micro preemie. Dropping them off in 2 different classes will be hard. I hope they don't feel lonely. But, Hallie just wasn't ready for that big room, yet. And after talking to the daycare they agreed to let her stay down a class instead of skipping that class to catch up with her age group! Thank goodness!

I hope everyone had a good July 4th! The babies are over their sickness, for the most part. Hallie has done extremly well with her eating lately. I found something that works....we get all the kids in the neighborhood (not really, but my 3 little cousins) to come over and everytime Hallie takes a bite we clap and cheer for her, she LOVES it...so she keeps eating! Whatever it takes, right!! Heath and Hallie are both doing a good job with walking. Heath walks about 20 steps before falling, but in our little house...20 steps will get you to where you want to go! Little miss Hallie is walking about 10 steps. She amazes me all the time. This little bitty girl has so much strength and determination, and a fiesty little attitude to go along with it!
Harley has been doing great with the potty training. He is now telling us when he needs to go (sometimes)...But this is major progress.

He seems to be doing better this afternoon. Hallie has a cold too, so im hoping hers doesnt get near as bad. Heath crawled around, finding every blanket he could find.... and just laid there.

*Julie, next time I start telling you anything positive about my babies, STOP ME! I just got off the phone with you telling you how "I can't even remember the last time Hallie threw up". Well dang, now I know..TONIGHT... but I will say it wasn't like the old reflux junk.... She is running a fever and is congested , which made her throw up so bad she was gagging! After I posted my happy 1 week anniversary of NO TUBE, since Hallie all of a sudden got sick she cant eat. She cant breathe through her nose...so I gave in...I cant force my sick baby to eat...so I let her rest peacefully while I fed her with the G Button.

OH MY GOODNESS..It's been a week with no feeding tube... I will admit the last 2 days have been kinda hard but I have stuck with it. She is SLOWLY starting to eat more food (or maybe its just my imagination hard at work!) To all you moms that are like me, that love hearing about foods babies with feeding issues will eat....well Hallie's new favorites is Pretzel sticks, the thick ones...Im sure its the salt but she will suck on it til its gone.
I took Hallie into the Dr on friday to check out her rash (eczema!) and anyways, he gave me a rx for that...but she weighs 15 POUNDS.... the best news is that she has gained 3-4 oz (in a week) with us not using the tube. She is also taking about 4-5 steps on her own...Yes, her size 1 feet can walk!!!
Heath is going everywhere...He stands up on his own and walks room to room. He has been doing great.
Harley's potty training is doing better...This weekend 4 different times he has TOLD us he needed to go potty, as opposed to us making him sit every hour and him holding it until we tell him to go. This is no baby step....this is like a grown man step!!
Kids are good...Life is good!

We have gone 3 days with NO G button!! Yay! Everyone that has a kid with a tube/button can appreciate my excitement! We have gone a day or 2 without it before but it was a struggle and we had to return to using it 1-2 times a day but this time we have had more luck. She is waking up in the middle of the night for a feed , which I am NOT complaining about. She has been taking the same amount as always just adding the middle of the night feed. I am very excited and I hope that this is just the beginning. Even though the Dr. discouages using the infant feeder to take baby food, she has been taking some food too. Last night she took half a jar and tonight , she took the rest! She is DEFINITLY still eating tons better when she is sleepy or sleeping....but I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

I love matching the twins. I never thought I would be the one to match their clothes and I always talked about people that named all their kids with the same letter, and here I am with Harley, Heath, and Hallie! Which makes it very difficult if we have anymore children. Do I name he/she with an H or make them feel left out?!? I'll worry about that when/if the time ever comes. Even thought I think about that all the time because there just arent a lot of H names to choose from. Anyhow, enough rambling!

On a happier note, during our visit to Dallas we had several hours to blow between Dr appointments and so we thought this would be a great chance to visit our old nurses. We were able to see each babies old primary nurse, Adena and Gloria. They of course thought they looked great and huge. Considering they look at 1lb babies all day...we are huge! It was great to see them again as well as a few other nurses. I don't think that they realize just how important they are to our family.
** Notice the picture..... I was telling the kids to look at the camera so I could take a picture of all the NICU friends in the pool. Its a proven fact, kids don't listen to their parents. Notice, Julia and Halle Grace look perfectly at the camera, while my 2 little rats continue playing like they have heard nothing!!!

Hallie went to the GI Dr. today and she weighs 14lbs 13oz!! GO HALLIE! The Dr. told us to stop using the G Button all together (we were only really using it 1 time a day).
In this top picture Hallie was getting a morning bath and I guess she didnt realize she wasn't still in bed. She slept through the whole bath. It was so funny but also pretty hard to hold her up.

And Heath is off! He started walking this week. He still prefers to crawl since it is faster but he CAN walk!! Yay! He has also learned how to get on Harley's big boy bed, so the babies are no longer allowed in their without us. We took a trip to Dallas today to take both kids to the Dr. Heath went to his ENT Dr and he said Heath's ears look great. He weighs 20lbs!!! New Carseat here we come!

Hallie looks so happy in this picture. But, look very closely... she has a cheerio in that back of her mouth and she is actually gagging. The kids have been doing pretty good lately. Heath is starting to walk, he is becoming such a big boy... He has taken up to 15 steps! Hallie is doing about the same on all her eating issues. She still takes her 5:30 am feed with the tube, all others are by mouth and she still isnt eating any solids. She loves putting cheerios in her mouth but she still gags every single time. Im waiting for that one day when she just "gets it". Thursday we have an all day trip with the twins to Dallas. Heath goes to see his ENT specialist and Hallie goes to her GI specialist. What fun that day will be! But we will know what Hallie's new weight is.

Cute picture, right? WRONG... it would be cute if this wasn't what I walked into after the kids were down for their nap for 5 minutes! I was in the office and I thought I heard something so I walked into their room, and there they were standing up just talking away to each other. It was cute but I would have much rathered them be sleeping!
I think it is time that I take the mobile's out of their beds , I walked in to get Heath the other day and he was playing with the mobile, while he was laying down in his crib...yes, he took the mobile OFF his crib.... and I wasn't even thinking... This really sounded like a good plan. Get a little pool and let the kids splash around! Well, too bad 3 of the 4 screamed bloody murder for the first 15 mins. In the black and white picture you can see that my 2 along with Julia are trying to escape, and after much screaming .... they won! After they watched Halle Grace have the whole pool to herself, one by one they started to join. Then they all loved it!! Who knew kids that love cry getting out of the bath would cry getting into a baby pool. I dont think I will ever figure kids out!
The bottom picture is when everyone calmed down, and it really looks like we were baking the kids in the sun, but actually....we were in the shade!!

NICU FRIENDS

NICU FRIENDS!! Saturday we spent the day with our old NICU buddies, Julia and Halle Grace. Halle Grace was Heath's first roommate and since her name was Halle and that was my daughters name, there was an instant connection!! I would always tell everyone "Heath is by Halle but not our Hallie". Julia's family was the first family that we became close to. There are so many rules in the NICU but it seemed that everyone knew about us being close , we could go visit the other ones baby and ask question, which is unheard of! It was so nice getting to see them again, I feel like we see each other all the time since I do stalk their blog site's and talk regularly on the phone...but seeing them in person and watching the kids interact was MUCH better! The mom's may have enjoyed it more....or maybe the dad's did, since we made it a mom's day with the kids and the dads went and did their own thing.....Julia is so big and has the cutest head full of curls, and it was so sweet when i first got there she just held her hands up for me to hold her, like she knew me forever! Halle Grace, goodness...she has got to be the smartest 23wker EVER, she talks and talks, asks questions...answers questions... I like to flipped out when i picked her up she asked me what my braclet was....Here we are just trying to get the twins to say "mama'! She amazed me, to say the least!

I am SO EXCITED..... HALLIE BROOKE WEIGHS....are you ready.... are you sure...... 14lbs 4.5oz!!!!! That is about a pound this month alone.....Thank God for the makers of Duocal!! Heath had his heart appointment today, and he doesn't have to see him again for another year. She said that his heart must have sounded louder to the CNP cause of the Pnuemonia he had. So , for once...i was very happy leaving the dr's office. (not that you guys arent nice... but we rarely see you for good news...michele and deion!) We are planning on visiting some NICU buddies of ours on June 3rd (but im not telling the babies that, cause then they would get sick the day before going) I cant wait to see Halle Grace and Julia again! Besides that , nothing new here.....FYI- Hallie does not hold her own bottle while she eats... but she did long enough for mom to grab the camera!! way to fool them all hallie!

And the hits just keep on coming! Today we took Heath and Hallie to the Retina Foundation for further research on their eyes. All test were ran with their eye glasses on. Heath (with glasses on) had normal vision for his adjusted age. Now for the HIT of the year... Hallie with glasses ON, is legally blind in her left eye, the one which she has had 4 surgeries on. We realized her eye was really bad but we thought that the glasses corrected it, or at least made it a lot better. The news was very shocking and depressing. Hallie has been through so much and we pray that in the future there will be surgeries that can correct her vision, at least where she can see with corrective lenses. Maybe it was that I was in denial about how bad her eye was. They told us if we didn't start making her wear her glasses more and start patching her good eye then she will lose ALL vision in her bad eye. All of you who have babies in glasses know its almost impossible to make them wear the glasses for any amount of time. I would like to say Hallie wore hers for 3 hours in a row today! Maybe she understood the bad news, too. I think being a mom of a preemie has definitely helped me see the good in things, we have all had so many close calls with our children's health. I think it has helped me tremendously get over the little hurdles that we have been faced with. I am very thankful that Hallie can see out of her other eye, and has normal vision in it. As long as she has vision at all , I should be thankful, right. I know things could be so much worse and we are lucky to have the babies as healthy as they are. It just breaks my heart to look at her and think that she doesn't have everything she deserves in life. During times like this , and many other times that we have been faced with, I have to try and take the advice that I have given to so many... I know God wouldn't have given me these babies to love and take care of if he didn't think I could handle it. I feel so lucky to be the mom to 3 beautiful children. The hardest thing about being a mom is the feeling of hopelessness when there is something your child needs so bad, and you can get it for them.

Heath's cardiologist appointment is Monday, wish us better luck on this one!

Heath and Hallie are still trying to get over their sickness.... I can't even remember the last time I wrote... Hallie got sick around Friday... So, to anyone wondering.... Having 2 babies with Pnuemonia, SUCKS! Justin and I both took off Friday, in fact I haven't been to work in almost a week. Things are starting to look a little better around here. Heath still is having some trouble breathing but all antibiotics are gone, we are still doing breathing treatments all throughout the day. Hallie has started saying a few more words. Momma is now in here vocabulary, and also uh-oh. And guess what everyone.... hallie fits into a pair of sandles, well...kinda, they almost fit and they dont fall off, so we are wearing them!!
Harley now has a new puppy, once again! Since Justin fixed the fence I really think this one is a keeper. Harley named her Lacy.

I was telling my mom just the day before I got mine that they should have an age requirement of 30 to be able to buy one (which I am only 25 to anyone wondering...Carrie, maybe you should try getting one...u deffinitly have the age thing going!! LOL, im just kidding, you know i love you) But, then i broke down and realized that i am no longer cool, that it doesnt matter what vehicle i drive, once I step out with all 3 kiddo's....I lost whatever coolness I may have had... and i hate to admit it , but i actually really love the van!
I FINALLY got a picture on here, from my new computer at home. We just thought Heath was eating a whole jar of baby food, but actually half of it ends up on his face, as you all can see. Then of course I try and upload another picture of Hallie and Harley and it wont let me, go figure!

Today was Heath's Dr. appt, and I was really expecting another viral infection... But, boy was I ever wrong. Heath has pneumonia! Yes, you read write... He is now on breathing treatments every 4 hours, steroids, and antibiotics. He is coughing a lot and sometimes is throwing up from that. ***** When the CNP was checking his heart she noticed that his heart sounded a lot different then before. (he had a major heart surgery when he was 2 lbs). This startled her enough to call his cardiologist right away. So, now we are making an appt with the cardiologist asap. Please pray that he doesnt have to go through another surgery! I think if Heath isnt better by monday they will probably admit him into the hospital.... But, hopefully with all the meds, he will be getting better fast!
Hallie is starting to get congested and is also coughing a lot... So, it looks like we will probably be taking her in sometime soon.... Do they ever get well.... I think before one is well the other one is sick...we never have a healthy house!
One of the coaches at our school gave Harley a new dog, since his old one ran away.... What the heck is our problem with dogs... This one lasted approx 20 hours before leaving... its in a chain linked fence. Harley doesnt know that its gone yet... we are hoping he forgot about it...we are getting him another one this Sunday, and YES , Justin did spend an hour fixing the gate! If this one runs away..... I give up!

Once again today, I got a call from daycare. Heath had 103 temp again! He had been well for 4 days, and now its back... I may be taking him to the dr again tomorrow, probably just for them to tell me its a viral infection and that we just have to wait it out. He has also started throwing up again. Up until about 2 weeks ago he had about never thrown up. Hallie, too, is starting to get congested and is also throwing up some.... Enough about all that!! Just wanted to update everyone! For some reason my home computer wont allow pictures to download...so it looks like it will be a while before I get ya'll get to see them again....

It is about time I update! Well, it has been one crazy week here.... Lets start with Heath! Thursday he was sent home from daycare with a temp of 102... friday it reached 104.5 and he wasnt keeping any fluids down... it was so scary! After finally finding tylenol supositories his fever finally went down to 103. Friday we also took him into see one of his doctors and they said it was a viral infaction. So pretty much we just have to ride it out.... Today is Tues and he is still not himself at all...no throw up since yesterday but it still only taking about 1/4 of what he usually does. The Doctor said as long as he is having wet diapers that he should be okay. Saturday we did think we were going to have to take him to the ER but he finally wet a diaper! ---This is me being selfish... but, since Heath was sick we were not able to attend the MOD walk...i was SO upset.. I had been looking forward to seeing Julia and Halle Grace for so long and visiting with their families. ( we will have to get together this summer, for sure!)--- During all this sickness for Heath, he FINALLY has 2 teeth...barely, but you can feel them! Now, onto Hallie.... I am offically withdrawling the term innocent with her! Wow, she is a mess! Dynamite = small packages! I believe it!! She has been getting into trouble at school for pulling this other little boys hair ( he is 20lbs bigger then her) , she will drag him down by his hair... my first reaction to this was "way to go Hallie!!" but then after the 2nd and 3rd time of the teacher telling us this... ok, now its old... The pulling of the hair is my mothers fault, she used to get to play with my hair while she ate...you know, whatever to make her eat... then it got to pulling, so I stopped that...well, my mother still lets her do it to her. My mother says its making her arms stronger... Hallie does NO wrong in Nana's eyes. Hallie is still on her DuoCal weight gainer and I must say its working, I KNOW she is getting bigger. We will not offically know her weight until June, I think. But, take it from her mom ..this baby is gaining ( remember, i didnt say how much!) Hallie has been sleeping in her bed now for about a month, except for her little meltdown last night. She cried for over an hour and finally Justin put her in the car and drove until she fell a sleep... Being the cruel mom I am at midnight.... she slept in her carseat.. I was way too scared to wake that baby up, in fear that the crying would start back up. I would love to comment on the progress she is making with her eating, but the truth is there is none... she is no better or no worse then before.. On the Harley... Our ball of fire! His newest thing is singing the "honky tonk, badonkey donk" song.. It was cute the first 1000 times, now the teachers are all talking about it at his school, should I remind everyone that his school is at a church! Potty training progress... Holy Crap, this is the biggest struggle we have ever had as Harley's parents... I have taken advice from everyone... He does not care if he goes in his pants... we have done every thing from making him sit the potty every 30 mins, to putting cheerios in the toilet for him to aim for... - he wants to eat the cereal... not teetee on it! On the the new dog we have... or shall i say HAD... it ran away its first night, found him the next day in the woods.... then we had him for about a week or 2, he started really liking us , so i thought... that darn dog is gone again.. this time no where to be found.. Harley just doesnt understand why Flash keeps running away.... He was chained up so good... but he got out of his collar!
Well, that about sums up our week...

I am SO late on doing this..... but we are walking with the twins in the March of Dimes walk in Dallas on the 29th. I just registered us, as the LovvornTwins. Our 15 month check up was depressing! Heath lost weight...he went from 19lbs 1oz 3 weeks ago to 18lbs 15oz!! But , we aren't worried... cause he is eating like a pig....
Hallie weighed 13 lbs 2 oz , 3 weeks ago and now is 13lbs 5oz.... NOT ENOUGH GAINING!! We are now added DuoCal to her feeds...so wish her luck....They were very pleased with both twins progress....

Where does the time go....I forgot yesterday was Hallie's One Year at home anniversary!! It doesn't seem like she has been home that long. A year ago we were stuck in the bedroom with her, because she was so attached to machines she couldn't leave the room. She weight 5lbs then, and only 13lbs a YEAR later. But, she has made great progress and we are so proud of her. I couldn't be more excited about chasing her room to room , when it drives me crazy... I just think how lucky I am that she is here with us and then nothing else seems to matter. We are so blessed to have her as healthy as she is.... God has been good to us! She amazes me everyday! Look at this smile, how could you NOT love her.....

Tomorrow is the twins 15 month check up....So ill have new weights and stuff on Thursday!

Thank goodness Nana happens to be on vacation. The daycare is closed for Good Friday, and for some reason our school is open. My mother has the twins (which both happen to be sick) and Justin and I are taking turns having Harley in our classes! What fun...Harley is eating up all the attention from all the girls in my class, what a little man he is!

In our house, we have triple trouble! All 3 of our kids are running(crawling) in 3 different directions. It's near impossible to get anything done when you are home alone with all three. I'm lucky to have them fed and changed. Justin and I are like single parents , just on different days. Days he has baseball games, Im home.... when I have track, he's home. And Wed and Sunday seems like a breeze cause we are both there!!

*My mother is back from Arkansas (yes, we have family there...but shhh..we dont tell anyone!). You never realize how much grandparents help you out until they are gone for a few days. Nana and Granny, we love you!

Hallie is no saint! She has turned into quiet a handful herself! She crawls in her room and drags out all her old micro preemie clothes from the bottom drawer. If Heath is only in a diaper then she tries pulling it off. She doesn't allow up to change her diaper peacefully anymore, she twists and turns just like Heath now. That is something Harley never did, he was a great baby...Im not use to having to pin a kid down just to get clothes on him/her! I finally found a pair of shoes that fit Hallie, they are the pink ones she has on in this picture.. They are actually newborn bed slippers but they are the ONLY ones that have stayed on her little feet, her ankles are TINY! She is eating decent these days, she is doing a little better with baby food- she doesn't gag everytime we put it in her mouth...And sometimes she even opens her mouth for it. Her bottles are going pretty good, she knows who will feed her with her tube if she refuses the bottle (her Nana) ...She is a smart girl, she eats for me and the sitter! Her Granny kept her the other night, Granny is a favorite of hers...She only sees her about once a week but she loves her...And besides me, that is the only person she goes to.

** My friend in the hospital had her babies about 2 weeks ago... They weighed 3lbs a piece! ( a lot of us would have paid big bucks for our little ones to weigh that). She had 2 girls, Molly and Emily. They are doing good, and are starting to eat from the bottle. Probably shouldn't be too many more weeks and they will be home!

**Harley got a dog yesterday, he was so proud of. He woke up this morning asking to see it.... Well, Flash is GONE.... Poor Harley is so upset. The dog dug a hole and got out... We aren't holding our breath that he will be there when we get home! We will just have to get Harley another dog!

These pictures tell it all, Heath is into EVERYTHING! And when I tell him "no, sir", he just laughs at me....Heath is doing great, even though he has been standing now for months and is too scared to let go to stand alone! I think the kid could walk, if he wasn't such a chicken! He is eating great, about 3-4 jars of food a day and everytime he takes a bottle its between 7-10 oz! He will be moving to his 'big boy' car seat this next weekend.

***Great News- Heath and Hallie both slept through the night last night... that is a first, both in the same night...! I woke up this morning , rolled over and asked Justin , "did yours wake up last night", nope, "did yours", nope! AMAZING!! A full night sleep for everyone in the house.

***All 3 of the kids had their pictures made at daycare today... I was there and I think they are going to be SO CUTE, I cant wait to see them!!! They all wore white shirts with denim! Not all smiled but I think they did all glance at the camera at the same time.

Heath and Hallie are finally feeling better! I hate to write that , because I know how fast things can change. When Hallie was sick last week she stopped eating, all together. She was refusing her pacifier , which is very unusual for her. I was so stressed but once she started feeling better she was almost back to her old self. She isnt eating near as good as she was but she is eating some. When do the preemie up's and down's end? This roller coaster ride has gone on long enough!!!! Another depressing thing.... In the winter Hallie started wearing 3-6 month clothes , evidently only because of her length.... Her 3-6 month summer clothes are falling off of her.... So we are going from 3-6 months clothes to 0-3 months.... wrong way Hallie!! Heath and Hallie had their first taste of a baseball game the other day... Heath was perfect, Hallie wanted out of the stroller and to be held...My sweet innocent little princess is starting to be a handful, she always, always wants to be held....and only by mommy! Its cute and I'm so glad she loves me so much (cause Harley is Daddy's boy ,all the way!!) but its starting to get kind of annoying.... I love you Hallie, and love that you love me....but Nana , Granny, and Daddy are all good people too....Let them hold you, they wont bite... promise!

This has been a rough week for the twins. Heath and Hallie have both been sick with fever and congestion. Monday I took both of them to Tiny Tots (their Dr.) and of course we drove over an hour to hear that its a viral infection that we can't do anything about. On a better note, we did run into an old NICU friend of ours, Halle Grace. She is getting so big and has the best little personality, and her communication skills wow'd me (yeah, ok everyone.... I think I just made that word up!) I can't wait for the March of Dimes walk, so we can see everyone again. Hopefully everyone will be healthy so they can play together....OK, that was all Monday. Tues, I get a call from daycare that Heath has a rash all over him. Great!! Everyone said "maybe he is allergic to the antibiotics he is on"..nope, that cant be it... cause he isn't on any.... So I call Tiny Tots back! I know they love hearing my voice 10x a day! After talking with them they decide he needs to be seen but it was too late to come in that day. So, here we are on wed... I decided to take Heath to Harley's pediatrician which is about 15 miles closer and its only a 25$ co -pay. But, once again.... Its a viral rash that we can't do anything about. It is all over his body but it doesn't seem to be bothering him. They did measure him today... He is 30 inches long... I will have to get a picture of Heath and Hallie standing next to each other, she comes up to his chin, seriously!

My beautiful little girl has come so far this month. I can not even express how blessed we are to have her making progress in everything. She is catching up to Heath pretty fast. She is pulling up to her feet. I know I posted all this with my last post but Im so proud that I'm doing it again!! She is still eating fairly well, even though we do use her tube at her 5:30am feed, she isn't much of a morning drinker! She even took about 5 bites of pudding the other night...I couldn't be happier! We took her to the GI Dr. last week and he was impressed with how well she is doing, but he said she still is gaining weight too slow.
(Carrie, but he did say....atleast she is gaining!) She now weights 12lbs 14oz. She is so close to 13lbs but it always seems like those last few ounces take the longest time!

Its sad that Im buying one twin 12month clothes and one twin 0-3 months. Though we are fitting in to a few 3-6 month things!!

My friend in the hospital is now 32 and a half weeks pregnant! She has been in the hospital now for about 50 days, I would be going crazy! But, I would have loved for that chance to go crazy though, she is so lucky to be able to have held off this long. Im so happy for her and her family. She also has a daughter that is 2, and having twins... So someone else is going to have the crazy life like we do.... No one could prepare for it!!

Heath looks exactly like Justin! The picture of him in the bath (sink) , I think you could put justin's baby picture up there and you couldn't tell a difference. The one of him in the high chair is a picture of his first black eye. He got it at daycare, thank goodness. So at least they don't think we beat him, cause he is ALL boy and full of bruises!
We are still waiting on his first tooth to come in, he is still cranky, drooling, and chewing on everything. He is walking around the furniture like crazy. It is so funny, out of him and Hallie, he is the one that is scared of everything: the vacuum, the hair dryer, Harley's cars that make noise... He screams and shakes! And Hallie doesn't seem to mind... Gets to Justin that the boy is the sissy!!

Im almost scared to update on the twins, just in fear that Hallie might decide to stop doing so well...Here it goes!! Hallie is eating all of her feeds by MOUTH!! In the last month she has starting sitting up so good, crawling right!, and eating.... She has also only thrown up once in this month ( and that's when Heath hit her with a toy and made her scream so bad she threw up).. I don't know what made Hallie change so much but Im loving it! Her therapist are so proud of her progress. She has even started pulling up on things , a few times getting to her feet!! I am so extremely proud of her but , at the same time, im so scared of things going back to the way they were....I know how fast things can change but im crossing my fingers that she is over the tube and throwing up.....We actually take her right out of the bouncy seat after she eats....No more waiting an hour for her food to settle. ( we still feed her in the bouncy seat because that is where she seems to be more comfortable eating) We take her to the GI Dr. Tomorrow and thurs we take the twins to get their hearing checked. Hallie will get weighed tomorrow, I cant wait... Hopefully she has put on weight these past few weeks. Hallie still doesn't eat baby food but the other day she did eat (or suck until it was half gone) an oreo....She loved it...She kept leaning over with her tongue out for it...So I went and got a whole bag of them from wal-mart!
To celebrate Hallie doing so well, her and I went and got our "mother / daughter" pictures made. They turned out SO good....Hallie smiled in every picture. Heath has been doing great, too! He is eating a jar of baby food every time we feed him. I think he is putting on a lot of weight too.... He is walking around the furniture but still isn't brave enough to let go. He is a mess... I try to dress Hallie up in a bow every once in a while, but Heath rips it out...And NO progress with him and his glasses...Still hates them, and he doesn't like Hallie wearing them either, he likes to take hers off, too. And after all this chewing on everything for 3 months and drooling , still NO TEETH!!

I had a good time on my trip to Austin, but I was ready to see my kids! It's amazing how it feels to wake up after getting a full 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. That was the best part of my little vacation. I did watch some good basketball games, too. The grandparents watched the kids thurs, fri, and sat..... Justin had a baseball tournament. He will be gone all this wkend , he is leaving thurs morning and not coming back until sat night. I sure hope the grandparents are as nice this wkend (hint, hint!!) The twins are continuing to do just as well as they have been. The only new news is that they do NOT like strangers. My cousin came over with her 4 kids , and they wanted no part of anyone of them. And Justin's grandmother was going to watch them sat morning but the babies cried the whole time cause they don't know her very well. Its kind of cute now, but I sure hope it doesn't start being a problem when the grandparents or the daycare gets them...
My friend in the hospital is now 30 weeks pregnant!!! Yay! That's so awesome, they say her babies are close to 3lbs now....a 3 lbs baby, i cant imagine.... That's like having a GIANT!

A day in the life of the Lovvorn family.... Our lives are CRAZY! This top picture is Justin trying to watch T.V., there is no more watching a show in the peace and quiet... You will be lucky if you only have 2 kids crawling and sitting on you.I looked over and seen all the kids on him, and I couldnt resist to grab the camera. It shows what a typical night is like for us... Chasing kids, getting them out of troubled spots, making sure they dont break each others glasses, or each other, for that matter! Last night I had to take Heath off of Hallie, he was sitting on her face! There is always babies everywhere, if one baby isnt pulling his/her glasses off, the other one will do it for them! Ill be going to Austin tomorrow, until late sat night. That is by far the longest i have been away from the twins, even when they were in the NICU, I still visited everyday. I am very excited about getting a full night sleep but, I am going to miss all 3 of the kids so badly. I must admit I am in need of a little vacation. I am going down there to watch the state basketball tournament and to relax! Justin's birthday is also tomorrow ( i know.. happy birthday, im leaving you with all 3 kids for 4 days!!) He will be 26! Heath was wonderful with his glasses the first 2 days...leaving them on until it was nap time.. then he figured out that he can take them off, and that gets mommy's attention.... so now he is just as bad as Hallie is about leaving his on. What am I going to do with these kids? He has FINALLY learned how to hold his own bottle, thank goodness. Its hard to try to feed 2 babies at once! Heath has his glasses!!! We got them in yesterday and they fit him a lot better then Hallie's do. He keeps his on a little better, atleast the first day! He weights 17lbs 7oz. As you can see by the picture, we need to strap him in the high chair...just sitting him in there isnt working anymore.

Little Miss Hallie has put on some weight!!! She is now 12lbs 6oz!! She gained 4oz in a little over a week. She has been doing great with her "army" crawl...she goes everywhere, and fast! She is getting such a great personality. She has been taking 90% of her feeds by mouth. Things are finally looking up for Miss Hallie. She loves playing "where's Hallie", like we were doing in the first picture. And Hallie loves her new baby gymnastics jumper, thanks Magen!

We now have a 12 lb baby! I took Hallie in for a weight check yesterday and she had gained 1 oz since Friday. Its slow, but its progress. She weighs 12lbs 2.8oz. Both kids are feeling better. Before anyone asks, NO, Hallie doesnt eat the biscuit that she is holding...she will just hold it! If you look really close you can tell where she put it in her mouth for a split second before she realized it was food!

Good news and Bad news...Heath's heart appointment went pretty good. He was too sick to sedate so they weren't able to do the echocardiogram, but they did do an EKG. The Dr. seemed to think he was ok, and he doesn't go back until summer. On the other hand, we had him looked at by his regualr doctor, we knew that he was sick but to our surprise he has PNEUMONIA....Great! Today Hallie is sick, so I get to take her.... I sure hope she doesn't have the same thing, but I know with our luck , she probably does.
Since we were at the hospital getting chest X-rays, I went and visited my friend that is in the hospital trying to hold off having her twins for a few more weeks. She was in good spirits and she has made it to 26 weeks + 2 days!! I was telling her how awesome that was, just to be able to make it that far. She is hoping to make it to 28 weeks!

Tomorrow is a big day for Heath. We take him back to his heart Doctor to see if he has to have another heart surgery. It is so scary to even think about. The will sedate him to run the test. Wish us/him luck! They look like they live in Colorado, but really it was 50 degrees that morning!

Hallie is now doing the army crawl. She can find her way to get to anything in the room. There is really nothing new to report as far as anything else. We are still waiting on Heath's glasses. We dont go back to the dr with them until the end of the month. I hate waiting that long to find out if Miss Hallie has put on weight.
As you can see by this picture, size isnt slowing her down from letting Heath know who is boss.

OK, this is all I can handle. We went to Dr. Leffler today (eye Dr.) and to our surprise Heath needs glasses. So now we are going to have two babies in glasses. It is going to be almost impossible to keep glasses on Mr. Independent. Hallie's eyes stayed about the same, so there is no changes with her. WISH US LUCK!

A good friend of mine, her sister-in-law is in Baylor 24 weeks pregnant with twins. They were able to stop her labor, for now. That is really all I know at this time. I will update when I know more. I just wanted everyone to pray for her.
